Strategic Planning

The University of Michigan-Flint is embarking on a comprehensive strategic planning process to chart our course for the next five years. This effort seeks to create a shared roadmap that reflects who we are, what we aspire to become and how we will achieve it together.

The Strategic Planning Steering Committee is a group of faculty, staff and students charged with leading this collaborative process. Co-chaired by Provost Abby Parrill-Baker and Melissa Sreckovic, the committee ensures broad input, transparency and alignment with the University’s core priorities.

The strategic planning process will be inclusive and iterative, built around listening, reflection and shared ownership. Throughout the year, the committee will gather input through surveys, town halls and focus groups to ensure the plan reflects the voices and perspectives of our community.

We invite all members of the UM-Flint community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and external partners, to take part in shaping our university’s future.

  • Share your ideas through upcoming surveys, engagement sessions and feedback opportunities.
  • Follow our progress as we post updates, findings and key milestones along the way.
  • Help shape the plan that will guide UM-Flint’s next chapter and strengthen our shared commitment to excellence and inclusion.

Your voice matters. If you have questions, feedback, or would like to request greater transparency at any point in the process, please complete this short Strategic Planning Process Feedback Form.
