Our mission
Provide high-quality, confidential, student-centered psychological services for University of Michigan-Flint students. We strive to improve the mental health, and psychological well-being of our clients. As a unit of Student Affairs, we are dedicated to assisting students in working through personal difficulties, academic issues, and crises in order to maximize their educational experience. Our purpose
The purpose of the University of Michigan–Flint Counseling Center is to provide a variety of psychological services for students who are currently attending classes on campus. All of our services are absolutely free to enrolled students. Counseling Services provides brief, solution focused counseling to individuals, couples and groups as well as limited psychological testing. Academic success workshops and outreach programming are also part of our mission. Faculty and staff may contact Counseling Services for consultation and assistance in addressing the concerns of students.
Confidentiality
Counseling Services strictly protects your confidentiality within the limits allowed by law.
We do not report your attendance or any personal information to any unit in or outside the university without your written permission.
There are limits to confidentiality that the law requires. We will be happy to provide you with more information regarding these limits at your first appointment.
