Campus Emergency Preparedness Email
Emergency Preparedness Email | Sept. 11, 2025
Colleagues,
Now that the new academic year is underway, we must emphasize our commitment to health and safety at the University of Michigan-Flint. Our community is a busy and active environment, and keeping our students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors safe is paramount.
Linked here is the Classroom Emergency Preparedness document for UM-Flint instructional and supervisory staff, one of several university resources outlining important guidelines for fire safety, severe weather, active aggressor/shooter, medical emergencies, and additional emergency preparedness resources.
You are encouraged to review and become familiar with emergency preparedness and response practices and procedures for our campus and within your specific unit. Students look to faculty as leaders in the classroom; therefore, it is essential for all instructional staff and supervisors to be familiar with campus emergency procedures.
For more information on these and other emergency preparedness planning and response-related topics, please visit the following webpages and become familiar with the critical role and responsibility you have during an emergency:
Contact DPS at 810-762-3330 to request or schedule active aggressor training, CPR, RAD, and Stop the Bleed training.
We wish everyone a successful year and appreciate your attention to this important message as we work together to create and sustain a campus culture of preparedness.
In Partnership,
Ray Hall
Chief of Police
