Educational Administration Statement

Each State Department of Education makes the final determination on a candidate’s eligibility for license and endorsement. State educational requirements for licensure are subject to change, and the University of Michigan-Flint cannot guarantee that the completion of the Educational Administration program will satisfy all such requirements.

If you’re interested in obtaining a building-level administrator license, we encourage you to confirm your eligibility to satisfy all educational requirements with the State Department of Education in the specific state or U.S. district/territory where you wish to become licensed.

Most of the states listed do not accept it because the MA program might not directly align with the state standards. To discuss your options, please contact Owen, the academic advisor, at jamesowe@umich.edu or call 810-762-3331.

*Programs accepted, but licensure requires PK-12 experience of some kind, which is not required for admission to the program. Note: Licenses may be able to be obtained in other states, but it will be on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.  People from states marked “doesn’t accept” will only be admitted to the programs after signing attestation documents to their plan to get licensed and work in Michigan.
