Graphic Communications

Graphic design is visual brand messaging. Every design, whether a full brochure or a special event graphic, must represent and reflect the high standard and deep pride one would expect from UM-Flint. As such, the look and feel of every piece should amplify the university.

MAC produces a variety of creative materials – advertisements, banners, brochures, posters, etc. – for the university, as well as its colleges, schools, and departments. Every piece produced impacts the university’s reputation. As such, it is essential that all communication elements be well designed, use the proper logo or seal correctly, and maintain brand consistency.

MAC must approve all materials representing the university or its entities to off-campus audiences. Final approval is required for any editing, design, and photography work taken off campus to commercial printers, artists, or agencies.

The most cost-effective time to obtain approval is early in the planning process. Our staff can assist with design, from original concepts to fully polished designs. We will collaborate with you to create custom pieces to achieve your goals and objectives and meet the needs of your audience.

A minimum of two weeks is needed to complete your graphic project. This timeframe includes copyediting, layout and design, proofing, proofs, bid requests, and printing (in-house or off-campus commercial printer).
