Learn in a Supportive Community

Our mechanical engineering master’s program utilizes a cohort model to foster a community-based learning environment. As they progress through the program, students collaborate with classmates who share their passion for problem-solving, innovation, and project management. This cohort structure increases engagement and helps students build a strong support network for personal and professional development.

Master’s in Mechanical Engineering Curriculum

The mechanical engineering graduate program curriculum aims to build practical and technical skills that position students as competitive candidates in the engineering industry.

Students take four core classes in mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, dynamics and control, and fluid mechanics. These advanced courses lay the foundation for the remainder of the program, comprising either four graduate-level EGR courses or three graduate-level EGR courses and one AUE course.

Additionally, graduate students could choose to pursue the thesis option or the non-thesis option. Students who choose the thesis option must secure a thesis advisor, take two thesis courses, and complete their thesis and an oral defense. Those who decide upon the non-thesis option must enroll in two EGR or AUE graduate-level courses and pass the master’s-level exit examination.
