Guided by the pillars of belonging, advocacy, and education, the Intercultural Center (ICC) at the University of Michigan-Flint is a welcoming space for all students that centers on the needs and experiences of people of color and other marginalized people within its walls and throughout campus.
Throughout the year, the ICC hosts and co-sponsors numerous campus events to promote dialogue across differences and social justice education.

- Support and informal advising on a range of personal and academic interests and issues
- Opportunities to organize events and receive support for programs related to social justice and diversity
- Use of computers, free printing, and lounge space to study, rest between classes, have lunch, meet new people, relax, meet with friends, etc.
- Opportunities to attend numerous events and participate in efforts to cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community at UM-Flint
- Workshops related to issues of identity, multicultural education, social justice, and more

The main ways to get involved with the ICC are by attending events and spending time in our physical space in University Center Room 115. Additionally, we employ a few student workers; while these jobs are not always available when they are, they are posted here. History of the ICC
The ICC exists because of and for our students. The ICC opened its doors on October 21, 2014, in response to the requests from various cultural student organizations that expressed a need for a space focused on two things: (1) supporting the work of their organizations and (2) educational programming related to issues of cultural competency and centering marginalized identities, especially people of color. There was a focus on creating spaces for critical dialogues and fostering an increasingly inclusive environment at UM-Flint. In the spirit of inclusion, everyone is welcome at the ICC and at all ICC events and programs.
