Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

EV Charging at the University of Michigan-Flint Campus
The UM-Flint provides two charging locations on campus, available at no cost to faculty, staff and registered students.
Obtain an EV Charging Permit
- Visit the DPS Administrative Office in person at 602 Mill Street, Room 103, Hubbard Bldg.
- *Questions may be directed to DPS. Please call Gaye at 810-762-3330.
- Please bring your Mcard and vehicle information (year, make, model and VIN).
- DPS and facilities will partner to activate the provided EV Charging UM-Blink card.
- *Charging cards expire annually on August 31; please visit DPS each August for a renewal.
Parking Lot T
(located on the south side of 1st Street between Wallenberg and Harrison)
Two EV Charging Spaces are available in Lot T from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Requirements:
- A valid UM-Flint parking permit and a valid EV permit
- Blink RFID Access card or Blink Mobile App account; Blink users need to be added to the university’s Blink subscription
Parameters for use:
- Users may charge their vehicle up to a maximum of four hours per day at no charge.
- Users are expected to unplug and move their vehicle after four hours.
- If a vehicle is not unplugged or remains in the EV charging parking space for more than four hours, occupancy fees will be assessed.
- It is recommended that Blink members opt-in for communications (text message, email, or both) to receive alerts that the charge has been completed and to track fees.

Hubbard Building Parking Lot
(located on the corner of Mill Street and Campus Drive)
Two EV Charging Spaces are available in the Hubbard Building Parking Lot from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Requirements:
- A valid UM-Flint parking permit and a valid EV permit
- Chargepoint Mobile App account
Parameters for use:
- Users may charge their vehicle up to a maximum of four hours per day at no charge.
- Users are expected to unplug and move their vehicle after four hours.
- If a vehicle is not unplugged or remains in the EV charging parking space beyond four hours, the vehicle will be ticketed.
