At the University of Michigan-Flint, we know that every student has a unique story and set of goals. If you aren't a traditional incoming freshman or transfer student, you might fall into one of the categories below.
Students who attended the University of Michigan-Flint for at least one semester and have not attended classes in over one year fall into this category. We can help students return seamlessly to their education.

Students enrolled at another accredited college or university who are in good academic standing with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher may attend the University of Michigan-Flint as guest students by obtaining permission from both the Office of Admissions and their home school. The student's home institution must be consulted to verify the courses taken at UM-Flint will transfer. To continue taking courses as a guest student at UM-Flint, students must earn a grade of C or higher in each class.
Non-Candidate for Degree (NCFD)
Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree and/or are interested in taking a few classes for personal enrichment, continuing education, or teacher's certification are considered NCFD students.

Genesee Early College Student
Students who have completed their high school education through the Genesee Early College are invited to continue pursuing their bachelor’s degree at UM-Flint. Since these students have already taken several UM-Flint courses, it is important for them to enroll through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a UM-Flint student.
In today’s competitive job market, employees are encouraged to enhance their educational backgrounds and complete a bachelors degree when possible. At the University of Michigan–Flint, we know it can be a challenge to incorporate studying into your already hectic schedule. UM-Flint currently offers many programs for degree completion online.
