CIT Premium
Starting in the fall, the College of Innovation & Technology will consolidate all course and lab fees into a single $90 charge per credit hour to replace individual lab fees and support educational resources. This cost difference will appear as a separate line item for each CIT course, labeled as “CIT Premium.” For example, a 4 credit hour CIT course will include a $360 charge.
This change eliminates individual course and lab fees in favor of a simpler calculation that, while higher than in previous years, will greatly enhance your classroom experience.
CIT Premium will cover numerous expenses in CIT labs and classrooms, including new equipment, maintenance of existing equipment and support for lab staff. Other covered items include consumables that support student learning, such as robotic kits, laboratory notebooks and materials for projects. The new charge will also help fund state-of-the-art facilities, expanded collaboration with our partner campuses in Ann Arbor and Dearborn, increased research opportunities, stronger industry and alumni relations, and new programs of study.
Through this change, our goal is to reduce confusion, increase transparency and maintain the unique learning environments that are part of the College of Innovation & Technology.
