Go Blue Transfer Scholarship

The University of Michigan-Flint is proud to announce the addition of the Chancellor’s Go Blue Transfer Scholarships.  Transfer students who attend a partnering community college and display tremendous academic achievement are eligible to be considered for this one-time, $2,000 scholarship. This scholarship must be used towards full time (12+ credit hours/semester) tuition costs during the Fall 2020 entry term. 

Partnering community colleges include:

  • Delta College
  • Lansing Community College
  • Macomb Community College
  • Washtenaw Community College
  • Wayne County Community College

To be considered, eligible students from partnering community colleges must have a 3.75+ college GPA, 48+ transferable credits, be admitted to UM-Flint and have a current FAFSA on file with us by June 15, 2020. Academic achievement and financial need will be taken into consideration by the selection committee. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Scholarship

Members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society are eligible to apply for this award. To be considered for the scholarship, students must submit two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a Phi Theta Kappa advisor. Applicants must be members of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing and have a minimum 3.5 GPA for consideration. This award is a one-time, $1,000 ($500 for fall and $500 for winter) scholarship. It is required that you enroll for Fall and maintain at least part-time enrollment (at least 6 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the entire duration of the scholarship.

University Scholar Award

This award is designed for those transfer students planning to complete their undergraduate degrees at UM-Flint.  Those being considered must have completed at least 50 transferable credits with a grade point average of 3.8 or higher.  Students must be admitted by July 1 and enrolled in Fall semester of that year.  Two letters of reference are required. Those selected are awarded full in-state tuition and mandatory fees for two years. It is required that you enroll for Fall and maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Westwood Heights Lions Club Scholarship

The Westwood Heights Lions Club Scholarship is $4,000 for 2 years. Students must have at least 24 credit hours (institutional and/or transferable), with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and graduated from Hamady High School. The scholarship will be applied and divided among Fall/Winter tuition costs. Students must maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Crankstart Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be re-entering and be full- or part-time.  Applicants must also have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years, demonstrate financial need and be pursuing their first baccalaureate degree. Osher, Bernard Foundation

Founded in 1977 by Bernard Osher, a respected businessman and community leader. Foundation seeks to improve quality of life through support for higher education and the arts, and provides post-secondary scholarship funding to colleges and universities across the nation, with special attention to re-entry students. UM-Flint was selected by the Osher Foundation trustees as a recipient of the Osher Re-Entry Scholarship Program. Weiser transfer Scholarship

This scholarship was made possible by a generous donation by Regent Ron Weiser. Applicants must be transfer students, full- or part-time status, pursuing an undergraduate degree and demonstrating high academic achievement.  The Office of Financial Aid and Undergraduate Admissions will select recipients.
