Financial Aid Packages
The Office of Financial Aid helps every student access the aid they’re eligible for. Explore all types of aid available, including scholarships, grants, campus jobs, and flexible payment plans.

First-Year Merit Scholarships
Instantly available to motivated students with strong academic records, our First-Year Merit Scholarship program offers awards ranging up to $10,000 a year, with limited full-ride awards available.
Transfer Merit Scholarships
Admitted transfer students with a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0 or above are automatically awarded $2,500 per year for two academic years, with prorated amounts for part-time enrollment.

Other Merit Scholarships
UM-Flint offers merit scholarships to help lower the cost of your degree. Your admissions application is your scholarship application, so there’s no extra form to fill out.

Full-tuition scholarship for eligible Flint high school graduates.

Detroit Promise Scholarship
Full-tuition scholarship for eligible Detroit high school graduates.
Free Tuition with the Go Blue Guarantee!
UM-Flint students are automatically considered, upon admission, for the Go Blue Guarantee, a historic program offering free tuition for high-achieving, in-state undergraduates from lower-income households. Other Scholarships
Thanks to the generous contributions of our alumni and other donors, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a number of merit scholarships for incoming students with application deadlines of December 1 and July 1 each year.
