First-Year Merit Scholarships
Instantly available to motivated students with strong academic records, our First-Year Merit Scholarship program offers awards ranging up to $10,000 a year, with limited full-ride awards available.
Go Blue Guarantee
The Go Blue Guarantee is a full tuition scholarship available to first-time and transfer students who meet the following criteria:
- Undergraduate in-state students who are admitted to and attend UM-Flint will automatically qualify for the award if they have a family income of $65,000 or less and assets below $50,000.
- In addition to meeting the income and asset provisions, incoming first-time college students need a high school GPA of at least 3.5 to qualify for the Go Blue Guarantee and be eligible for up to eight semesters of free tuition.
- Incoming transfer students need a transfer GPA of at least 3.5 and will be eligible for up to four semesters of free tuition.
Financial Aid Packages
The University of Michigan-Flint’s Office of Financial Aid helps ensure all students receive all aid they are eligible for. The types of aid available include scholarships and grants, as well as flexible payment plans and campus jobs.

Other Merit Scholarships
Thanks to the generous contributions of our alumni and other donors, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers a number of merit scholarships for incoming students with application deadlines of December 1 and July 1 each year.
